For anybody who has bought wheels for their trike, Douglas in particular. The Douglas wheels for the 185s are listed as 3.00 + 5.00 for back spacing. But I have measured my 185s to be 4.5 + 4.5. I measured from the inside mounting surface to the outside lip. Am I measuring wrong because the 185s wheels are supossed to be 8 in wide. I am talking about the front rim too.

The originals are split rim wheels. Most, if not all tires you buy now are made for one piece rims and some say on them "do not use split rim wheels." A 3+5 will make the bike sit out an inch farther on each side than stock, if what you're saying is right. I sold my 185 a year ago or so, so I dont have anything handy to measure myself.

Not quite sure on what you mean by adding an inch to both sides Im mainly worried bout the front rim setting like its supposed to evenly. Has anyone bout these rims for a 83 185s?

You should clarify if you are looking for front or rear wheel help in your OP so people don't assume you are talking about the rear wheels.

Is this still about fitting a 10 inch rim to the front of your 185S?

Sorry scooter I fixed it. And yes I wanted to just buy a new new rim for the front and I have seen where people have bought the Douglas rim for the front of 250sx's and had no problem. I was trying to figure out if these new wheels would fit my trike but atc300r pretty much answered my question now that I know it will theoretically fit I'll just get an original off of eBay. I just didn't want to buy a rim it not fit and I would be stuck with a rim that I couldn't use. Sorry for all the post I'm going to lift the front of this bike to fit 27s it's gonna be mud toy. I'll probably make a build thread once I know every thing will work.
