Just thought I'd show you guys my newest acquisition. The exhaust leaks where the head pipe goes into the muffler. Haven't done anything with it yet. Picked it up parked it in the garage so I can get started on it this weekend. These are just the craigslist pics.

Nice clean find. Looks like original tires too. There's a gasket that goes between the header piper and exhaust that likely needs to be replaced. They're about 10 bucks from Honda. Let us know how things turn out after the weekend!

I'm the third owner. I have the original tools minus the bag, original owners manual, and a letter dated 1988 that apparently came with the new warning decals that the first owner promptly installed on the fender as per the instructions.
This thing can't have many hours on it. It's not perfect by any means but I thought it had the original tires as well. Unless a new set was put on back when they were still available. It runs pretty rich too. Hopefully a good cleaning of the carb will fix that. Anyone have a line for a "like stock" replacement air filter?

You can get stock air filters at most all honda atv stores. The metal screen part may be harder to find, but the foam is readily available. Also a UNI filter is 20$ and is a great replacement.

Great score...you don't see too many taken care of like that, especially with original tires and fenders. You may have to do a bit of work to the gas tank though, I think I see some bubbles at the seam..

I'll probably go with a uni filter. I have them on the rest of the bikes too.
The tank is bubbling a little but inside is still shiny clean.

Ok guys here's another pic. Things have been crazy as I've been focusing on closing on a house. Haven't done much with it yet but I know I need the gasket that seals the connection between the head pipe and the muffler. The only one I've been able to find is at atcheaven.com. I think they are located in Australia and wondered if anyone here has ever dealt with them? Anyone know of another supplier I can try? I haven't checked with my local Honda dealer yet either. They never seem to be able to help anyway :/ Thanks in advance!
Edit: Just ordered one from bikebandit.com

Anyone know if this battery will work on this machine? It's not listed in the sellers description but there aren't many options on Ebay for a gel type battery that fits the 200e. Should I just stick with the original Yuasa YB14-A2 or equivalent lead/acid battery? Thanks again for all the info you guys provide on here.
As for what's been happening with the big red...not much. I did receive, oil, and install the uni air filter and the gasket for the head pipe to silencer came in and will probably be getting installed Sunday afternoon if I get a chance.

So since it's still freakin cold out in the garage I loaded up the Big Red and took it up to the heated shop at work. Changed the oil first. Pulled the muffler off and patched up a couple small holes and reinstalled it using the new gasket. It's much quieter now and no longer leaks. Finished off by washing it up and cleaning up the motor a little. Got it home and ripped around the yard a little before parking it in the garage. I'm ready for warmer weather...
