View Full Version : Are Progressive Fork Springs Worth the Money?
I'm looking at a pair of progressive suspension springs for my 83 212x, http://www.progressivesuspension.com/prodSearchResults.aspx?yearID=1983&makeID=32&modelID=299
They are $92.50
And what is the Wire, Winder, and washers kit? Should;d I get that too? $20
I'm looking for feedback, goods, bads, what I will notice while I'm riding, etc.
PS If it matters I'm running a 23" front tire, everything else on the front end stock.
But this is going to be a TT bike so I'm thinking that these will be a nice upgrade.

So is that a link to a spring that has a recommended rider weight or is there just one spring rate for the 200x?
Just one. Those are the only springs listed on their website
Here they are on amazon cheaper (and image)

I would not recommend a progressive rate fork spring for rough terrain. They will work well for smooth track.
You can get custom made springs for almost ANY vehicle from my friends at EIBACH but don't tell anyone this. They can also determine the rate of your existing springs.

POST CORRECTION
I think the progressive springs in question ARE good springs and work well over most terrains including rough terrain. What i meant to say is that there are other options avail that can cater more specifically to ones weight, bike weight, riding style etc.
A spring of a specific rate obviously will NOT work the same for a 160 lb rider as it will for a 250 lb rider so the progressive springs mentioned are not a cure all for all suspension ailments.

Yes, they made a vast improvement in my 250r suspension.
