I was out doing what I call Lost & Found. When I get bored, I wander around the local pawn shops and look for deals on tools and guns mostly. I find what people lost to whatever demons require them to sell off their worldly possessions. :naughty I happened upon these new (they still have whiskers) Dick Cepek Spider Tracs in 25 x 12.5 x 11. I kinda though I could use them on my SX. Overkill, I know. Otherwise holding onto them until someone offers me something for them. Not sure yet. What I've read is they are fairly rare to find these days? Let alone a new pair? Any truth to that?

In my experience yes, they aren't too easy to find any more.

At some point several years ago, Dick Cepek quite making them and I'm guessing ITP bought the rights and made them for awhile. I had a set of ITP Spider Tracs on a Quadsport and they were identical in every way to the Cepeks right down to the little spiders printed on the tire. I remember having Dick Cepek Spiders on another quad I had back in the early 90's when I was a teenager. As far as I am aware, ITP has since dropped them now too.

They are heavy, but the traction they have for every day back woods trail riding is awesome, especially on a lower speed machine. I wouldn't run them on anything fast like an R or an X. But for trail riding on an SX, Big Red or something, they work great IMHO. I wouldn't mind finding a set for my '84 BR at some point.

People say the same about my Kenda Bear Claws on my Auto-X. I can break em loose and slide no problem with those mounted on Douglas .190's. :wondering

Like I said... I might just let these go. I'm always open to offers. As I also, said... They're no use to anyone sitting in a pawn shop. I would rather sit on them knowing the history of them and their importance. They're a bit dusty in the pics. I'm going to grab some Armour All tomorrow on my way home from class and clean them up. They're in my kitchen right now at the end of the work bench staying safe.

Outlaw... That is awesome! Thank you for sharing that.

On second thought... There was a set of rims next to the stack. They looked like 9's. I did see a D stamped in em but not sure if it was D.I.D. or D.C.
I may have to go back tomorrow.

You have a work bench in your kitchen? Luucky. Armor all doesnt dry out the rubber?

My kitchen is my small engine shop. I bought a decrepit trailer home for $2000 last May after my ex wife divorced me. It's my own little slice of bachelor heaven. I have a hill and trails right behind my place to ride and neighbors to ride with. There a few trikes in my tiny park too, Not including my yard full of Hondas.

Spray Wd-40 on them! Lightly. It will bring the rubber back!

I love these tires. I have a set of 22's. I've used them on my X, sx, and even some of my 125's. Way better traction than my bearclaws, or mudlites. They were on my 250r when i bought it. LOL

So apparently 11" rims are very hard to find with anything over 7" wide. Nevermind the fact that you can't find anything near a 4/110 pattern.

Rims on my 98 400 foreman are 11 inch..... 4/110 bolt pattern.

Didn't realize these were no longer made, I feel like I see them on bikes all the time.... I also have a set with the nubs still on them that came with a 250r I bought last year, can't imagine they would have gone well on there because these things are heavy lol.

That helps Jason... But they're still scarce. I'll keep looking. Thinking these may end up in the classifieds pretty quick. Ha ha!

If they were for 9" rims I would probably make you an offer on them for my BR.

The other thing about them, they ride STIFF. Only downside to them IMHO.

I have a set that came on the first gen R I picked up in fall. Pretty worn, but I now know why the clutch was bad...

If you have an equivalent of Uncle Si, you should start your own reality show.

I don't get the reference JustEnough? Don't watch that horrible show. LOL. Fixing stuff for people is my hobby and helps to fund my projects. It's also a good way to get free machines. I've come home home to find ATC's on my yard with a note saying "Add to your collection" or "Please give this a good home".

I have ran a few sets of these over the years. They are great aggressive tires until you knock them down about 3/8 of an inch, then in hard slick clay, or or snow and mud, they spin more than take you anywhere. I have run them on 400ex, 300ex banshee's and 250R's. A good stout 2 stroke will turn them just fine, but they do have a lot of lateral slide. Either way good find. I have a set about 90% in the rafters or I would be offering you some cash for them. Heck one set I had had a 3 inch nail in one of them. It never did go flat.
