Can someone clear this up for me please? I've seen other threads on the topic, but it is still not black and white to me. What's what?
I understand the P/V's to be replacements for the original Pro Vectors, is that correct?
Is it that simple?
If you want OEM rubber on your 86 250R, then you would need/want the Pro Vectors, correct? NOT the P/V's. I've seen these P/V's selling, or being offered at rather high prices.
I happen to be sitting on a set of Pro Vector rears that are in primo condition, like maybe run a couple of times.
These are another item that I will not be using for my upcoming R Project.
Anyone interested?
Send me a PM and I'll get you a link to some photos.
Thanks

Ohtsu replaced the Pro Vector tire with the P/V after the atc times
Tires that say pro vector are rarer because they are either off the bike or they were bought during the ATC era.
For instance, my bike had Pro Vector 301's on it and they were bald. I bought a pair of P/V 301's which were the same tread pattern with very minor changes about a year ago.
Both tires are now gone, but finding a Pro Vector set is more rare than a P/V set

Ok, that makes sense. Thx
I have a set of the Pro Vector 701's - I assume that is the "factory" or stock tire set off the 86 250R, correct?

I do know that not all ATCs had PRO VECTORS, the 1987 200X had factory PVs . Didn't 1986 ATC250R had factory PRO VECTORS but also had P/Vs near the last production runs? I think Andy's crate 1986 250R had P/V's right?

Ohtsu changed the branding during 86 I think, early 86r's would of been fitted with Pro Vector's and the later models had P/V's, I have also seen Pro Vectors fitted to 86 TRX's so they probably just fitted what was on the production line at the time.
The Pro Vector tires are certainly far rarer but at the same time I wouldn't say the P/V's are not period correct, the tires are date marked anyway.

Yep like Nick said....honda first run of 1986 250R's had pro vectors the later run 250R had P/V's so depending on your VIN number which is right....
