sputtering????

At full throttle my 86 tecate sounds as if it is sputtering or cutting out? any other throttle positions its ok & it starts at a high rpm when cold but when it is warm it doesn't like to idle??? I need help? any info would great!!
my carb has not yet been rebuilt that is probably a good place to start, what do you guy's think?
