View Full Version : Dirt Wheels Asking for ATC Support!

slashfan7964

Browsing my Facebook feed, I noticed DirtWheels posted a picture with probably about 12 ATC70's asking if anyone would like to see more pages like "this" in their magazine. The responses on the photo are entirely positive, with people saying trikes are making a comeback.

They are asking for your support by liking the photo/status and/or sharing the image. I'm assuming this means with enough people providing positive feedback, more trikes will be featured in the magazine.

You can find their page below:

Almost wish I was on Facebook so I could like the picture. Would love to see more trikes back in there! Would be really nice to see some articles on a few members' bikes, too.

Hey mickey.. are they leaning towards 70s or 3wheelers in general? Not that I think either would be bad, im just curious what they are thinking.. lol

They just e-mailed me,they want more info and said by the response they already got they are giving it the green light!

That is fantastic news Mickey! The response they've gotten overall is pretty strong, regardless of content, almost every post they make someone mentions a three wheeler.

This is a good question, I'm rather keen on knowing the answer as well. I think little victories like this will slowly warm them back up to 3 wheelers in general.

A big thanks to you Mickey. We don't have a schedule, per se. It's all very impromptu. We have our little network here and when the weather's nice and enough of us are itching to get out and thrash on the little ones........it just sort of happens. It's very hard to set up dates in advance because of the weather around here. It can't be too wet because you end up spending way too much time getting the track ready. If it's too hot it takes a real toll on the engines and all of us old guys. I'm hoping this year will be better than last year.
If they're really serious about this maybe I could start a Facebook page for the Mad 70's gang to get some good info out to the public. You need to join FB too. There are some groups out there that you would really enjoy.
Also, I'm happy they picked one of my pictures to use. I've taken soo many pictures and videos out there that it's crazy.
A few of my favorite pictures. :D Mickey Dunlap just passed me :wondering in the one and the other is my son putting the beans to his 74cc all Honda powered atc70. She's all stock! :naughty: You have excellent racing form Mickey. You look very comfortable on that 70!!!

I just went on the Dirt Wheels Face Book to see what the numbers looked like and seen it went from a Mad 70's thing, to a TPC ad!:wondering  Old bill just can't stand someone else getting any attention.
There are a couple TPC's on there now, looks like someone posted a couple X's and R's as well. The positive response they've gotten in just a day has multiplied by about 10. And get this, it has more likes, shares and comments than almost anything on their page right now. It's just plain exploded, which shows how popular they really are.

Well we have been talking back and forth and it sounds like it may be a full article with more then just the 70's. Nothing set in stone, just talking about different things as of now,but it's all good for the 3 wheeler!

That is awesome. Now we just have to get them to go to Trikefest and do a writeup for that. I'm glad to see that they are finally getting the recognition they deserve (yet again). I'd love for them to start testing them out and doing updated reviews kinda like ATV on Demand is doing again.

whats old is always new again and because no there way less of them the kids who have never seen them think they are cool. But I still like to see the custom ones built. Theres somthing about a 3wheeler that just cool and way cooler in a ATV mag.

I agree. I always talk about three wheelers. People get their heads filled with so much garbage.

It's still great to see that is has more likes, shares and comments than pretty much anything on their page right now, and there isn't a single bad comment on three wheelers in there.

Yep, they are happy with the numbers. It's funny when they first asked about what my new projects were and I told them about the three wheeler's I'm building, you could tell they were thinking "what the heck'! Then when they seen the pics it was a little different story, now it's because of all you guys that this is all happening!:w00t: All I can tell you is don't get your hopes up too much they still have to run it by Mr. Roland and that might not go over very well.:wondering I will say crazier things have happen, just look at what my Washington home boys did with the 12th man behind them, you guys are the 12th man so make some noise!:w00t::w00t::w00t: Go Seahawks!

I'll be honest, if it doesn't go through, that's just bad marketing. You've got a whole host of fans that buy into it, and others saying they will if trikes are featured...isn't the end goal to make money? You are supposed to give fans what they want in that regard, otherwise you get nowhere. The customer is always right.

If DW gets in deep with three wheelers you might start seeing more and more magazines coming around with them, and everyone might become more forgiving with trikes. The only downfall with rising popularity is that prices of everything go up, at least originally, until more manufacturers start reproducing parts, and prices drop back down. Who knows, if this really kicks off in the long run, maybe discontinued parts will be put back into production by some company. I know it's a longshot, but it all starts right here. When large companies get involved, the general public starts to follow. It always does.

You are right, and if Mr. Roland see's it making a buck he will do it,that's why the UTV's are taking up 50% of the mag. now, when it only started out with a few pages.

Exactly. I have noticed UTV's have been taking off pretty well across the board lately, and trikes could be next with this, if it goes through, and really, why shouldn't it. He would very clearly make money off it. Those who posted on the Facebook page are only a portion of all who like three wheelers, including those who don't even have internet access. Ever since ATV on Demand made a big deal out of the 350X, have I noticed people have been more accepting of them and wanting them back. Though, there have always been fans.

How ever you are wrong about the customer always being right!

In this case they are 110% right :D

Well I just joined Face Book under Mickey Dunlap, but I already messed up because I wanted it under my company name Four Stroke Tech. I have no clue in what I'm doing and I guess because of my e-mail address under Four Stroke Tech I got about a million friend requests!:wondering

Anyone know how to change the name without starting over with a new e-mail?

I knew that would happen haha.

If you go into your settings, you can change your name and the company you work for without having to make an entirely new account. If you go onto your profile page, there should be a button up top that says "Update Info". If you click this, it will allow you to change all your basic info at will. To the left, there should be a place to fill in where you work.

At the top of the page where the blue "Facebook" bar is, to the far left, there will be a gear/sprocket looking thing. Click that, and a drop down box will appear. Towards the bottom there should be a link that is called "Settings". Clicking this will allow you to change your name.

Everything else should be pretty self explanatory as far as uploading pictures and making posts etc.

It seems 3 wheeling is growing every day, like the Dirt Wheels post on facebook! I will def show my support and keep my eye on this!

Agreed. Their following is getting pretty strong. It's actually much larger that I thought.

Yea I remember that now,but most of them are my customer so I thought it would be rude if I didn't. This is already wearing me out and I haven't even posted anything!:(

It'll get better. Just give it a little time. I set mine so I'm offline on chat. That helps a lot. I don't always have time to spend on the computer so that seemed to help.

ATV on Demand did a great job on their 350x so give them a big credit for what they did too.
