I am sure this topic has been beaten to death. I did a search, and some questions still linger for me anyway....Coker has many tires for a ton of vintage cars and has even a selection for vintage motorcycles. Does anyone think we may ever see something like that for Ohtsus for Atc's and such? My wife is about to kill me, I am constantly buying every Ohtsu 501 PV for the 85-87 BR that I see that is in good shape lol. It's the only tire that looks good to me on the BR. When I had my first BR at 13 back in 85, I can remember staring at the tires because they looked so aggressive and almost futuristic (I was 13, it was the 80s. What can I say lol). :w00t:
I have only been back on an ATC kick for about a year. Have you guys seen the demand for ATC's and parts go up recently or has it been the same? I realize the parts are getting more scarce, but does anyone feel like there might be more people being drawn into collecting three wheelers and restoring them? I'm hoping that the same thing will happen that happened with the old jeeps...that there will eventually be a source of parts again that are quality and as close to OEM As possible.

The demand for trikes has increased in the last couple years as well as the prices. I would love to see more reproduction parts made to OEM spec. The thing is company's like Maier have to make money and a perfect part takes time and time can cost a lot. I have been doing research on the best way to reproduce the head light plastic for the 86-87 200x but its not going to be easy and I have a lot to learn still. I think that our best bet when it comes to those obsolete parts is going to be people here on the forum and other sites.

I think it would benefit any tire manufacturer to reproduce the KT576/OHTSU101 and rears etc just for their tread pattern alone, they make every other off the wall tire, why not?

I agree with the remanufacturing of some tires we need. But on the ohtsu 501 I think I will be ok last year I bought 13 pairs of fronts for the same reason they will be scarce to find if not now later!

ALLLLLLL OHTSU tires are discontinued ,even the ATC70's . The only available OHTSU branded tires are the MR 501 for the 1998-89 TRX250R/ 2012 TRX400X etc. Funny its the only ATV tire OHTSU makes now, maybe because there was a contract?

13 new fronts? Someone knows someone with a new set?
Ummm....HOOK ME UP!!! Lol. I would love to buy a new set of 25x12x9 Ohtsu 501s for my 85. Just to slap em on for show every now and then at least. I have the original tires for mine, still have the red line, but they are just slightly weathered. I have two other decent sets I rotate for riding. I tried some Carlisles and just got pissed off. Hated those.

All Ohtsu's are long gone. If you stumble onto ANY ,grab them !That's what I thought when I seen them there on the tire rack. I asked them about them being discontinued and he said he " I don't know,we can get em" They also had the tires that came on the 125's. Like I said before they may have been surplus that their supplier had and they could be all gone now since this was 6 months ago.

Believe it or not there are a few atc or trx ohtsu sp wamulas 70 tires still in dealerships in US.
You just have to look for them and find them that is the fun part!
I was driving to glamis last year and stopped at Liberty Motorsports in Yuma and I bought the 3 they had then stopped in imperial Valley Cycle Center in El Centro Ca recently and they had a few as well but don't look there I bought those as well!
Keep looking they are out there I know where there at but keep your eyes open!!!!

Love to find a NOS 23.5x8-11 OHTSU P/V 101 but just to keep for a future spare to go with my NOS 701 rears. I have been keeping my eyes open and I let one slip away last week! I really hope some tire company would reproduce the tread pattern from these tires some day ,no other tire looks right on these bikes. :(
