Anybody made a raptor 3wheeler yet? ive been thinking of this for quite a while, if i could find a raptor with a trashed front end from a wreck it would be perfect to cut the front end off, graph and weld in a 250r frames neck in and have the biggest baddest useable (not just a drag trike) out there!:Bounce

before anybody chimes in, a kawasaki v-force 700, honda 700xx would also be ridiculous!!

The 700xx is independent rear. I've ridden one, gobs of power, but that irs makes it pretty tough to slide, even as a quad, let alone a trike.

Screw the 660. Give me a built 700R.

Out of my price budget though. Don't really care for their power/weight ratio either.

But anyways...

Biggest? Baddest? From a 660 raptor??? Ummmm.... Lol considering pretty much any 450 will spank a 660 raptor I don't think it would be baddest. Big and heavy yes.

Now the 700 raptor. That's a good motor. The 660 is a big turd.

Ditto. Only quad I've ever blown up.

and they feel pretty top heavy from my experiences. I just sold my vforce, too much power for a quad, cant imagine that 500lb quad being a a trike lol. Too heavy and tall to ride on three safely IMO

Independent rear suspension is not ideal for a three wheeler. That's why you haven't seen one yet.

The 700XX is the biggest pile of turd ever. Dude in my neighborhood has/had one. he rolled up into my yard one day when i was warming up the suzuki talk chit to me about my "old pile of crap" and told me to race him. Well I swapped pipes right quick and went and rolled up in his drive way with the FTZ drag pipe on it and he wasnt s sure. then we went out back and i put him down every race until he blew that pos up. I wouldnt own a 700XX if my life depended on it.

the rap 660 is about the same way. The 700 would make a nice trike mill but again the bike is too big, like a zilla. that trike would be bigger than a Tri-Z

I've thought about the raptor 700 being put on 3 wheels. But, that sucker has too much power on 4! Buddy of mine has one with a Stage 2 Hot Cam, fuel tuner, intake, DMC duals, and over size throttle body. Now, that is pretty tame for a 700, mod wise at least. But that sucker is way too powerful for a daily rider. I've ridden it, and it WILL bite your trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro! Don't get me wrong, I love power. However, it is not in the least usable for trails. Dunes, sure. Trails and everyday riding around, he!! no!

I've heard the 700 is a turd and way too heavy. I've seen ATC 250Rs wipe them off the map with nothing but reeds and a pipe.

I know, it sounds ridiculous doesn't it! I find it funny when they get really pissed off at R owners lmao.

didnt know a raptor wasnt a good bike, theres a ton of them out in the dunes so i figured they were decent. a 450 is more of a full race bike, not a trail bike, to me a 450 is just 'trying' to be a 2 stroke

Huh? Maybe I miss your point but the new big bore four strokes are in a class of their own. The powerbands are heavy and steady and full of torque. There is no reason for a dual overhead cam 450 to "try to be a two stroke".

you can by my YFZ450R (2011 model) and try to trike it. ;)

I have ridden a few 450s and they are fun in the dirt but suck in the sand. You have to rev them like a 2 stroke and I dont think they have much for torque. Anyways Im not impressed with 450s, would MUCH rather have a 2 stroke. The raptors (or other big thumpers) have lots of torque and that makes them pretty fun to ride. Just my 2 cents.

you ain't riden my yfz450r then. it pulls wheelies like it's cool from a dead stop to start and going w/o trying.

Well put!!!! thats exactly how i feel, if im going to convert id like a huge thumper. Also 450s dont last very long, i know this from personal experience, a old world honda xr will run many many more years than a 450!

thats true it is just my opinion, im not a 450 fan at all, my 2 stroke 250s top end lasted longer than my 450s did, i just had a bad 450 i guess....
i know 450s are all the rage now
not sure how 450s came into the big bore raptor trike subject

check out my pic its my crf450 with a banshee motor in it, i got tired of the 450 motor having problems so i fabbed a banshee motor in it, the problems was solved for me, the banshee went over 3 years on a top end
