Hello all,

So, i'm doing a rebuild on this machine (1985 350X). I have a couple questions. My original carrier has the token adjustment teeth missing and it looks ugly! So, what i want to know is; Can i purchase any year 300ex carrier, and does it require sprocket change to an 1986 350X? Are there any clearance or mounting issues with the rear brake caliper or anything? Any other suggestions or experience on different setups for a 350X is welcome also.

I hope this thread can help others here. I've been searching for a couple hours and cannot find all the answers to my questions. So, all you 350Xperts, chime in please. Please only real answers..."not i heard", or "i think", it would be much appreciated! :)

Yes, you must upgrade to the 86 sprocket and tapered bolts.

when i did the carrier on my 85 350x i bought a rad carrier for an 86 350x because is was cheaper. i got it all apart and found that it already had a tapered sprocket. i just went to hardware store and found some bolts with shallow enough heads to clear the carrier and is worked great
