If I Squeze The Lever For My Brakes The Lever Won't Spring Back, Does That Means The Pads Are Worn Out Or Just That The Spring Have Lose Tension ?.
How Can I Tell If I Need New Pads ?
Also I Have Lost The Little " o" Rubber Gasket That Goes Betwen The Carb. & The Manifold,Can I Use Silicone Instead Of Getting A Kit Just For That Gasket?

the levernot springing back could meen the cable is bad or the spring is done. also the silicone deal on the carb would be quite the cob job but it will probably work for a temp fix.

there is no master cylinder on a 70 the breaks are mechanicle not hydrolic. lol that would be sweet to see a 70 with hydro breaks though :D

takr your carb to a local auto parts store they will have an oring to fit that,,,

best thing to do on a 70 brakes is pull them apart,, to see what you have ,, then grease everything up good and put it back together,,, you might hang the cable and spray wd40 inside to flush it out good ,, then brakes should be good for years

Exactly what Kasey said. Usually when they dont spring back, its crappied up shoes, shoe springs, and also the brake arm pivot shaft.

Go to your auto store and buy this stuff made by permatex called Ultra Copper. It is a high temp gasket maker (silicone). Works pretty good on carbs and its only like $4.00 for a big tube. The way to do it is squeeze out an even bead onto the carb where the oring normally goes and let it dry a little before you put it together.

an auto parts store will prolly have one that size that are universal try that out. if you dont have the old seal take the carb off and take it with you to an auto parts store and see if they will match one up for you.

Very few gasket sealers will stand up to gasoline, including silicon. Also be aware that many o-rings will not either. Make sure you use an oring thats made of a material thats rated for gasoline. Id suggest getting the correct O-ring from your dealer. Its probably more than .30 but still less than a tube of gasket sealer.
