I just got back from Missouri two days ago with my truck loaded down. What I had in it was two 84 250r's a 86 350x and my old 86 200x. The R's and the big x are basket cases but I got 6 bills in them. So not to bad in my opinion. I will be doing a ground up rebuild on all four bikes in the next couple years. The 200x is first on the list after my bandito 90 is warped up it wasy first trike. I just ordered the white carbon fiber fender set off eBay for it. As for the R's what should I look out for on them. I'm pretty familiar with the motor. Its already been ported and I have a mikuni vm30 carb and a keihin pe30 carb ( which one is the better choice ). On the 86 350x I know where to look for cracks and havent found any but its still going to get all the gussets. But what else should I look for on it. I will try to get pictures up some time this week.

Thank you.
Ryan.

I can agree with that! Lol.

Just call up TPC Trikes and get their gusset kit. I got mine from them, and it worked out really well. They did update the kit, but not their website. So, I had to figure out where certain things went. Wasn't too hard.

For the carbs on the r, I would look for a 34mm carb off a liquid r for best performance. You can still use the stock airbox setup as well. Keihn continues to be everyones favorite on these bikes. The other thing hard to overcome on those is the swingarm pívot Bolt. Try not to damage it, as they are very hard to find.

Ahhhh....
So this is how the the other planets get their three wheelers.

I always knew there couldn't possibly be life without three wheelers.

Congratulations on the projects, and thank you for helping interplanetary relations as well lol!!

Dang lol I could use a 84 haha! Lets see some pics. My 350x broke on the shift side of the motor going up from where the swingarm is bolted on its a small piece of tubing that broke.

Haha. You thought parts were hard to find here try finding aftermarket 90 parts on mars.

Here are the pics of the bikes. Like I said basket cases. Oh yeah and the swing arm and axle assembly is brand new its just set on a shelf for ten years.

Sheez! What a mess! Glad you are saving them, for sure. I've been doing the same with my 350x. Oh, if you need one, I will sell you a good engine skid ;) lol.

Well a bit of bad news. I was looking thru all the parts I got with this mess and I found that the other 250r motor had been disassembled. It has bad rod and crank bearings and second and third gear are in pieces. But on the bright side I have a bunch of extra parts for the other 84 250r.

What are the differences between the 81-82 and 83-84 transmission. I think the output shaft is shorter on the first gen but is it the same diameter as the the second gen and can I use gears from one for the other.

Only diffrence in the 2 is the longer shift shaft on the 83-84 to clear the foot pegs on those years.
