Just wondering if I can empty the engine oil out of the motor and remove the shifter lever/ then pop off the seal and oil up and install a new one without having to take off the side cover? :TrikesOwn

It is possible..
I've removed seals is the past by carefully drilling into the seal with a fine bit then get a self tapping screw like a drywall screw and carefully driving into the hole..
Then bracing on the shaft end use a claw hammer to gently pull the seal by pulling the screw as if to pull it out of the seal..if the screw pops out, drill and repeat in a different location on the seal.
I did this last summer with an outboard crank seal because I didn't want to split the motor.
Tap the new seal down the shaft and seat it carefully..it goes without saying you can do a lot of damage this way, so be careful and take your time.
If you feel the job going sideways on you, just pull the cover..it's not that big a deal.
PS..there may be a special tool for this task someplace also. I'm sure someone will know.

Use the triangle of a ziplock bag and grease it.
I use a sheet metal screw and needle nose to pry it out the TOP. If you crack that boss, you don't want it cracked on the bottom; That shouldn't happen anyhow.....
Get a long tube and a plastic mallet, it will pop it in easy.

There actually is a tool we used to call seal plucker.
Not worth buying unless you use it 10x a day.
I've had seals smoosh back out when you turn your back on them so we'd use 3m weatherstrip adhesive to glue them in. aka contact cement.
