I ordered one of these to give it a try. Now I will have to wait a month for it to be shipped from China:

What I could not figure out is how much 500 LUMENS is compared to what a 45W incandescent puts out; or a halogen.

Any progress on this? I noticed your post a while back was wondering if you got the bulb yet.

500 Lumens isn't a lot sadly. A 50w halogen is something like 3600 lumens is what i read a while back.

Got the bulb two weeks after I ordered it. It was nicely packaged in a static bag inside a padded envelope. It seems to be bright enough, but I need to test the original bulb further. I just realized that my battery charger may have been set to 2A slow charge which may have dropped the voltage to the original bulb when I tested it.

I should have ordered the similar bulb with the H4 base to prevent having to make a mount for it. The H4 has three spade contacts at the bottom, which is different than the original bulb which has two "button" contacts. I ordered the H4 bulb and a pair of H4 sockets with wires to see if they will fit in the original white plastic base that "screws" into the back of the original headlight.

I am having fun with this because the bulbs and sockets are so cheap at less than $3 each.

I may give this a try:

I'm still trying to find an LED substitute for the 200ES headlight bulb, its different then the 250ES bulb. More of a plain flat disc with the prongs then the kind of cupped one that the 250ES uses. I haven't worked at it too hard yet with the weather and being busy. LOL
