Well, timing can and will effect the powerband. There are several threads about advancing timing and the its interaction with compression and other things. That being said, there was one in a motor that I had rebuilt by a very reputable/legendary tuner that took it out and said that on the 250r, he didn't feel that it did any good. So I have an ESR version of one of those for sale :-)

I think all your questions where answered on the other thread but anyway,-
-That ones is NOT adjustable. It has +4 degrees & thats it. You cant "dial it in" . Just 1/2 a degree of adjustment + or - can make a difference so I wouldnt bother with that one. (All motors are a little different due to the way they are set & the mods they have too). In some cases you may need to retard it instead of advancing it.
-On a stockish set-up -probably not
-Yes youre reliability can be compromised when you advance too far + !! Otherwise NO. (better know what youre doing-as Red Rider said. A little at a time going advanced +!!!
-Like I said, theyre not as cheap as they used to be (R.P.M.unit)

If you have messed with port timings, stroke, spacer plates, it can help. If you have a basically stock engine I would not waiste the money.
