View Full Version : Anyone running paddles on a 200x?
I just picked up a bone stock 1986 200x. Not sure if I should keep the stock knobbies on it or run a set of paddles for Glamis. All the posts I keep reading keep eluding to the fact the the clutch can't handle a paddle tire. Is this true? I've have some very lite 21" Dick Cepek paddle tires, but don't want to damage the clutch or transmission.

^Bump^ Also what do you think about using them with a stock swing arm?

I don't have any recent experience with 2nd gen 200Xs.
I ran 22x11x8 Kenda Dune Runners and AMS Sand Snakes on my first gen 200Xs with no problems.
Paddles won't hurt a trike that doesn't already have problems.
Are those Cepeks some vintage Sand Sports with like 16 small paddles? I love those tires. Ran them on everything (Odyssey, 185s, 250r, etc) back in the late 80s.
I've ridden all over many dunes with knobbies and stock swing arms. I have stock Ohtsu and the twin Dunlops on my 350X and 250R now. The work great in the dunes. Although I have paddles for both, the 250R usually ends up with paddles on it but not the tractor.
