Ok, I got the flywheel off of my 250r and split the cases. I need to know the best way to sand and polish this thing to make it look chrome again so I can paint it.

best solution i have found to get all the old shitty paint off is;

-get paint stripper (i recomend this ZIP strip stuff, any local hardware store should have it)
-pour it in a bucket and let the cases soak for a few minutes
-take the cases out and use a wire brush to knock off all the paint
-dry them off and scrape off leftover paint (shouldnt be much)
-spray with oven cleaner, then rinse with water and let dry.
-sand with a fine grit sandpaper all over the surface to roughen it up..so the paint has a good tooth to stick to
-paint...dry.....paint however many coats you want....
just make sure you use the good quality high temp paint.
