Have a rim issue here...Any advice?

Well, I picked up a few rims for my 84 BR, had them powdercoated along with new BEAR Claws put on. It looks like one of the rims is incorrect. Of course had iI known or looked a bit closer, I probably wouldn't be in the situation. It looks like the hub is a hair off. Suggestions? Could iI shave down the ends of the hub or is that taking too much of a risk? Would it compromise it in any way? Or, could I possibly fit another hub in it? I know I could get a new rim but I'd hate to coat it again, remove the tire and put it back on the new rim. What do you think? Take a look.

How much material will you have to remove from the hub tabs to get it to fit the rim?

Looking at the pics if you take off that much to get it to sit down in your going to weaken it pretty badly. Almost looks like you would have to cut it back to the stud, well darn near.

Don't trim the hubs, bad plan. You could try something like this..

Just figure out how much spacer you need and buy a set of these wheel spacers that extend the existing bolts.

HOLD ON ONE SECOND!!!! Isn't the brake drum supposed to be on the opposite side of the valve stem? Valve stem on the left and brake drum on the right.

Yeah, looks like it would be close. And, after further review, it looks as if the studs won't line up anyhow. Looks to be off a bit. So, can I exchange another hub that will not only fit the wheel, since there is one out there for this particular wheel, but can i substitute it with the same brake set-up or does that need to be changed as well?

Honestly, it looks like there may be too many other issues that will arise I'm sure. I guess I may be better off finding another rim, the correct rim this time. SUCKS that I didn't notice this earlier but I was told it was the correct rim. Hate throwing money out the window and not only that, I'm stuck with a rim that I'm not even sure what it came off of.

Yeah, I was just taking a picture to show my issue with trying to see if I can squeeze it in somehow. That was just there for the sake of taking a picture.

Flip that hub over to the other side and see what you get.

Same issue, doesn't fit. The brake drum fits but not the opposite side of the hub.

Yup, that's the plan. Just been difficult finding a rim for a 200es.

The parts fiche shows the reinforcing rings on both sides of the rim and the hub would sit on top of the ring. Do you have the rings?

i do have the rings. They dont fit into the rim i have. The rears are from a 200M. Thanks for that list. i found one similar but not as detailed. I'll start my search. Thanks.

Ah 200ES... Now i know why your upset... Damn fronts are hard to find for them in good shape, or even decent period. I went through three rotted ones before finding a good one for a project this summer.

My god!! Toss the hub in a lathe and turn it down to fit.

It's not gonna hurt or damage or compromise it's integrity or I'll give you a 350X.

Doesn't look like the holes for the studs will line up the same though.

I actually found 3 nice rims without a hitch a few weeks or so ago. However, the single one I got just happened to be the wrong one unfortunately. The rim size is the same, just won't take the hub and studs don't line up.

I found a stack of 2 piece rims ( 9" with 4/150mm bolt pattern ). I also found a set ( 2 ) of 1 piece rims. Time was limited so I couldn't sort through to check condition and make sure they fit. That should happen tomorrow.

Here is a pretty good rim. There is a slight bend in the one spot. Should be able to be straightened pretty easily. PM me if your interested.
