Hi all....looks like the chances of finding a metal fuel tank are getting thin. Where do i find the best plastic fuel tank for my two machines. Also....can the plastic tanks be painted and what is the correct proceedure for painting them. I really dont like the look of the plastic tanks unpainted. I am in Canada ...eh

Clark sells the plastic tanks but the fit is horrible IMO , the side plastic covers don't line up with the tank so they cant be used and nope you cant paint plastic . Not sure if IMS sells a tank ?

Don't paint it. My cousin put a plastic tank on his. He wasn't happy with the color match to the Maier fenders and had it painted. I told him not to do it and theres no way it will stick. He had a body man do it who garanteed it would not peel. Guess what, its peeling. The fumes seep through the plastic and buble the paint from the inside, same thing will eventually happen to decals as well. I think his is wide open brand.
