I'll first begin with carbs aren't my strong point but I know decently how they work and how to work on one.

Alright so if I let my 200X sit (usually does) for any length of time or when cold starting it gives me a hard time (like I literally have to kick it over 30 times, about halfway through that I'll start to hear it firing out the exhaust. I'm not exxargerrating either I broke a soul on a boot kicking it over trying to get it to start). I have to really richen the carb up and then it will start (after a few more kicks). After it starts I lean it up and its fine. When its warm and stalls out, one kick and it fires right up absolutely no problem. I also noticed when it comes down into the low RPMs I have to keep revving it to keep it running because it doesnt like to idle very well. It runs and drives fine otherwise. Its all original nothings every been replaced or changed.

It does this every time. Is it becuase I'm running cheap 87 through it? I don't like to but I can't afford premium 93 like we used to put through it.I think maybe its just because of letting it sit and bad gas is going through it (first time after starting it up in 8 years it smoked up my whole yard and after it all burnt out the smoke went away).

Any insight? I'm thinking the carb needs a rebuild but I don't really have time for it right now.

Ebay and dozens of other places.

Whats your compression??

Your gonna wear out your kicker ratchet gears if your kicking it that much, then you'll have to split the case.....

Compression is great right up at new around 9.6:1 which surprised me with all the hours in it.

They are already worn out I have to pick the lever back up with my foot after kicking it over. Been that way for 15 years.
