Tecate Question

Do the newer KX(Dirtbike) motors have more or less power than the tecates?Im thinking of putting one in an 84.

They make more. You may run into some problems trying to fit the new KX motor in the 84-85 frame. The exhaust will not fit without having modified your front downtube or you may need a custom made exhaust. The old Tecates use a side exiting exhaust whereas the 86 on Tecates and KX motocrossers use a front exiting exhaust.

the older kx motors (83/84) should drop right in. this probably isnt that good of an idea though ,due to the differences in gearing. I have put a kx jug on my tecate bottom end and it made a substancial difference in low end power.---Joe 8)
