So I went to a family function last weekend, and got to talking with a cousing about bikes. My wife sidles up and mentions trikes, and my cousin asks, "Do you want an ATC90 project?"

I believe the photos portray my response.

Looking good. I had a green 1972 US90- traded it to a member on here.

I figured I really couldn't go wrong with $100 for a 90 that turns over and has compression.

It just goes to show that one man's trash can be another man's treasure. I've never paid more than $400 for any of my 9 trikes (including my 350x)...most people are under the assumption that "they're illegal, so nobody would want it"...perfect for those of us who are in the know:cool:

Along the same lines I just picked up an '87 K5 blazer in very decent shape for $1000 because the seller thought nobody would buy it with the surface rust on the frame (Apparently in PA even historic vehicles must be inspected and have no rust on the frame). I'm tagging it historic in MD (no inspection required and insurance is $200/yr.), and now I have a cheap, fun 4x4 for the snow and mud.

That's what I call a barn find! Nice score!

Great score, too bad the front tire is shot. Could of sold for a nice chunk of change. I mean you can repair them but in that state I don't know how much they go for. Overall in good condition though, well worth the money.

200/year? wow, I pay 200/ month for my 06 2500hd, my gf pays 350/m onth for her brand new tiny little suv. Im sure we make more money up here but the cost of living is rediculouse in these parts. fuel is 1.36/litre a 4 liter jug of milk is 5.86$ etc

how did you clean up the plastic six stroke? it looked faded or was that just a layer of dust?

Just barn dust. Dawn dishsoap and water took care of that. Though, I'm inclined to say that this has fiberglass rear fenders...correct? Sure looks like it.

They are fiberglass,,, Good little 73/74 for sure!!
Are you sure that front tire is toasted?

And if its still got the 6 spline rear axle thats a huge plus!

It doesn't hold any air, but some tire slime might work...if one were so inclined. Somebody but 25x12x9s on the back, so the rear is all tire. I've been thinking some 22x11x9s are in order pretty quick.

Very sweet looking 90... I like the smaller trikes, a lot of fun and a lot of parts out there for them.

That should be a good one to put a little TLC into. I have a 74 that the person before me put a new set of knobbies on, rides great.

I've been keeping an eye out for a high-compression piston. I really can't help but bench race the hell out of something when there's a lineup change. Though, I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Great project to start with, don't see too many orange/red ones around! I don't know if it's just the camera angle, but your front forks look a little bent to the rear. That leads me to believe why the front fender is missing due to rubbing issues.

You would be correct, it's pushed back a little. The handlebars are a little bent too, along with the right side peg. Apparently something put up more physical resistance than that 90 could overcome.

Update: the 90 is all kinds of functional now, and the wife loves it.
