Hey,

Well I ordered a new oversize piston a few days ago and now have received it. It was dirty, but I cleaned it up and everything looks good. EXCEPT a few things.......

Good dent:
179208

Another small dent:
179209

Nice indentaion of the corner. Note that this creates a nice bur on the side of the piston!
179210

Another angle of the same indentation and bur:
179211

I am no expert on this, but the bur on the side of the piston worries me the most. Note that bur protrudes from the side that would be in contact with the cylinder wall.

So, my question; Is the piston usable or should I return it and get a different one?

Thanks in advance,
Nate

De-burr it and smooth it out nicely finishing with 600 grit. It will be absolutely fine.......

Shelf wear , lightly sand down the bumps and bruises and run it , I dont see anything to excessive .

Send it back and get another, if you can if you have the kind of personality that will worry about it. Any noises your bike may make you think of that piston. If you are a worry free kind of person do what everyone said above.
