Been building this for a while and thinking about it even longer. I picked up a busted Tecate on the way back from Waynoka 2 years ago so I could build my brother a bike for his birthday. I had another that sitting in the garage too. I basically took the pair and built him a good runner. After that I had a pretty clean roller that I had big dreams for. 2 years later and a few different engine cradle designs, I have this.. Red 85 Tecate with a highly built KX500 engine. I am running a +2 WestCoast swingarm. I didn't want a long bike. My R is +6 with inverts and has basically become my dune only bike.. Anyways here is my bike...
Basically what I started with..

The other one

First try. This was an 86 motor that I picked up..

I'll just get to it. A few years down the road. Next gen KX motor built. New cradle and all cleaned up...

Next to my brother's

How much horsepower is that thing cranking out??? You said it's highly built :D

I'm reading that the KX500 produced a healthy 60-65 horsepower stock, so if it's highly built, I REALLY want to know what it's making!

Also, if I may request a video for a friend, he wants to see a top speed run onboard and a top speed flyby. If you can't do it, that's fine, but I figured I'd ask. :)

I will get it out when the weather gets a little better and get some videos with my go pro. I am not sure on actual HP numbers. The guy who built the motor for me owns the land speed record at Bonneville on a KX500.. He does all sorts of things to these motors...
