decided to put a case saver on my 85 r and noticed the bottom bolt is broke off in the hole hopefully I can get it out with a easy out. also anybody know what size bolt the top one should be the hole seems to be offly deep?

The top bolt on mine is 4-3/8" long from end to end.

wow thats why i couldnt feel any threads. any idea on the proper diameter so i can go buy a bolt

That bolt actually is a case bolt to. It threads into the right side case. Take out one of your stator cover bolts. Its the same thread and size. The threads on the case saver bolt are only about an inch at the very end, the rest of the bolt is smooth. If its broke off deep you might have to split the case to get it out. If you do split the cases you will have no problem getting a vice grip on whats left.

I'm pretty sure it's 6mm 1.0 pitch and any drill less than .230 in diameter will be fine.
