OK, so I have new seals and boots to rebuild the forks on my 1985 Honda 250R. Should I replace the springs too? If so, does anyone know where I can get them and / or a part number?

Thanks!

Springs? Is the bike setting too low? Are you a heavy rider?

Id leave those springs alone. What you need to check is the bushings on the down tubes. There 's 2 per tube. There way down on the bottom of the tube. If the gold colored coppercoat is wore off you may need to replace those. Of coarse the seals need to be replaced too but you already got that one covered.

KZR200, The service manual has service specifications for the fork springs. Give them a measure, if they are shorter than the measurement the manual states, replace them.

x2 on the bushings , I never do fork seals without replacing the bushings aswell.

Progressive springs are also a good alternative to OEM, i'm only 165 lbs , and I wish the stock springs were a little better.

Thanks guys, does anyone have part numbers for the bushings? Is there a PDF anywhere for the manual?

Thanks Again,
