this is what my streetlegal 86 t3 looked like when i got it in 2010. fenders where cracked and painted and i even had a trailer hitch.

i soon replaced the rear and front fenders with better used ones and the shrouds with dc tank cover shrouds

thats how i rode it the last 3 years almost daily sometimes i even rode to work with it.

this summer i found the crankshaft seals leaking so i decided to go through the whole bike. i bought a 86 kx engine off ebay for it so i can rebuild the kxt engine and run the kx in this time. i want to lower it some and use street tires on it. heres some pics of the progress so far.http://imageshack.us/a/img33/4186/ymnn.jpg

Looks great so far! I'd love to take a trike on the road legally! I saw a few on the road in Neu-Isenberg a few years ago when I
was there for work.

Are you going to use the 18 tooth main gear off the crank (along with clutch basket) off the Tecate in the KX engine to maintain the T3 gearing ratio?
Havent compared clutch basket teeth to see if they are different between the 2.
KX250 has 20 tooth primary spur gear

i dont really care about the gearing ratio. i think the kx ratio will be better for the street. i'll run small street tires so i have to change the gearing anyways. i think the clutch basket is also different or it wouldnt fit the smaller main gear

KX250 has taller gears because it runs a much taller tire in the rear. Just thought it was something u might want to consider looking into.
Very nice work so far.
I like your rear wheel hubs.

as i want to run street tires all around i needed a 10 inch rim for the front. so i bought a yamaha 5,5x10 rim off ebay for 10 bucks, made a new fronthub to fit it. so i can run the cheap yamaha banshee rims and all front tires i want

That's a lot of green, but very nice work. Did you machine the brake line guides?

Yeah it's really a lot of green on this one but i'm planing another tecate build after this one is finished and it will have nothing green but the fenders. The front tire is a duro scorcher 21x7-10 on a banshee rim and the rears are kings tires in 225/40-9 on banshee rims with weldet and redrilled bolt holes to 4x110. I also cut threads in the rolled lip to bolt on the reinforcement rings.

Man that's a sick looking tecate! I really like the look of those rear wheels, and you're lucky to have a street legal trike! I'm super jealous
