So got a cheap beat to hell chinese dirt bike for 60 bucks, took a 200x some one gave me and stuffed the motor in it. got it bolted up, wired and running last night. The only problem I have is the rear brake arm. on a 200x is bolts to the motor, and pivots around the kicker. Just wondering if anyone out there has any photo's of what they did to make it work.
the motor sort of swapped in there kinda easy, the cross tube on the lower frame got in the way of the motor, at first I was clearencing the motor, but in the end I ended up cutting out the cross tube. I measured all the motor mount locations of the stock X motor to the lifan, everything looked the same, but bolting it in took some patients, and pry bars, and tire irons. pretty much had to start at the back upper mount, then loosely fit the stock front mount, then get the rear bottom mount, and finally the upper head mount (that was a bit off, only used 2 of the 3 bolt holes) just keep all the mounts loose until you get all the bolts lined up. Also had to use the stock X carb holder. Nice thing with having the whole "PANTERRA" dirt bike is I had the harness and everything that goes with it. ended up just swapping the handlebars with all the switches and cables. so now it has a choke lever at the handle bars. The dirt bikes bettery box pretty much bolted up where the stock X toolbox was. So now I have DC power if I want to run LED's or HID lights.
