Yep, can't wait, it will be quickly added to the family. Its a 1981 250r in pretty rough shape but can be fixed. I have a few questions. It is a 5 or 6 speed, what gas/oil ratio should be used and how fast is it supposed to go? What are the gears...one down and rest up, all down, or all up?? Is there any person who has a bunch of parts for this??, I will be needing alot! Pics will be posted tomorrow (Update -- look below for pics). Thanks

Here's a few pics of it after I tore a few things off. I don't know about this thing, I took the motor out and broke a good flywheel puller trying to get the flywheel off!! I guess the rest of this machine is going to be just as stubborn.

looks like you got some work cut out for you. should be a fun project. id put some 18 or 20's on it and a narrow front tire on it and it wouldnt look half bad. (dont really care for the big ballon tires that are on it) keep us updated on how it goes!

I have a pair of straight forks for you if you need them. Looks like you might. Holic has a running motor for that bike if you need that. good luck.

So hows the project going?

Well I got the flywheel off, split the cases, took the tranny out and am getting ready to pull the crank and rod and replace the bearings, polish and paint the cases, and put it back together. My next step is getting the top end ready to bolt on which will include a bore and hone job, fit it with a new piston and rings, replace the bearings, fire it up and I'll go from there. I have a customer's Kawasaki Bayou in the shop right now and that is my main priority. It was submerged in a waterhole and of course sucked in water... destroyed the crank/rod bearings and bent the valves. When I drained the oil, there was maybe a pop can full and 75% of that was water and mud  He also wants a top end rebuild as well as a few other misc. stuff done to it, so I got a pretty big job on my hands. I'll keep ya posted. BTW, I'll get some pics whenever I get a chance.

Very cool, Was just wondering since it has been a while with no word. Im thinking my 250r may be needing a piston/ring job soon. But you just can't keep an old trike down.
