Getting A Good Deal?

Ive got a buddy who is gonna sell me a 83 200e Big Red. He only wants $75 for it. It shifts through the gears. It doesnt run but looks like it will only be a carb cleaning issue. It has compression, pulled the rope with out the decomp lever pressed and almost tore my arm off. But it does have a leaky head gasket and he said it did smoke when it ran but I plan to just get it running first and depending on the amount of smoke I'll probably just run it till its horrible. Its got the usual grime and dirt from sitting. And it's missing the high low selector arm, but overall it looks like a solid bike. Everything is their and it has a biggish rack welded on the front end. What do yall think Ill have pictures tommorow or friday. Good deal, bad deal? Anything I should look for?

hard to go wrong for that price. could part it out and make money very easily. I would look at the inside of the tank for rust first off. then brakes/cables and bearings throughout the machine. getting it running is usually pretty easy, its the other parts to make it rideable and reliable are what will nickel and dime you to death. hope this helps. good luck
