Rebuilding my brakes...anyone got tips to make it easy?

Im rebuilding the front brakes on my 200X,,,Im wonderin if someone that has done it already can kinda tell me what to expect or maybe a tip or two to make it easier and faster

pretty simple job,get a brake bleeder that way you only need one person to do it the bleeder I have is a mity vac 2 you can get them in any auto parts store pretty reasonable .
you hook up the hose on vac to the bleed valve and pump it up ,it pressureizes system without pumping brakes, holding,releasing bleed valve and having to do it over and over .instead of pumpin brake lever you pump the mity vac watch the hose till you dont see any bubbles.
no bubbles no troubles,if it breaks in half........ you get to keep both halves :-D

the mityvac works great make sure you have new brake fluid.
good luck with the brake rebuild,someone on here upgraded the brake lines to braided,said it solved his problems even after complete brake rebuild.

Make sure the very small port in the master cylinder under the reservior is not plugged with corrosion, sand, etc.

I looked all over for a rebuild caliper kit and cannot find one. My brakes also need redone. What other brakes off different machines are compatible with a '85 200x?

There is no re-build kit made ....buy the parts individually. Dust seal and piston seal I can't remember if there is any more..

What does "rebuild" mean? Problems with calipers or are you just replacing pads?

Good luck. About half of the brakes I run into are not rebuildable. Why?? Because people let them get so bad that usually the pins are seized in there and are nearly impossible to get out without heat and or drilling. I have learned not to dick around and now drill a #3 hole behind the pin which allows me to use my press and get at the pin. Upon reassembley I thread it to 1/4 - 28 and add a grease fitting which prevents it from happening again.
