All years 200X Fork Brace for 25$

Pretty cool in the original package. It was 11$ back in the day but I've seen people buying at 75-100$. I think I did ok :D

Awsome to see a NOS 86 engine! Rare indeed, wish I could score a NOS 87 200X motor but that would be a hard one to find also. Congrats!

Thanks, I have 2 now!! If I got an 87, I would have to change out 3rd gear. I have a few, seen a few broken transmissions; bad decision by Honda, I thought the 86 gear ratios seemed fine..........

The only true benefit is the larger kicker shaft. I buy them when I see them and just bore the 86 clutch cover to fit.

So what actually breaks the 3rd gear on the 87? Would the cause be gearing down hard at a fast speed be the main culprit? or does simply running through the gears ? I know the third gear is thin but what should I avoid to keep it from breaking? I never had an issue with mine ...yet... but I don't get wild like I did when I was younger.

I'm not sure but at one point I was buying bottom ends up like crazy. I got a few 87's and the 3rg gear was thinner (must have a smaller diameter??) but they were snapped in half. Some did survive. Not typical of Honda to change a well built transmission.

So, I just stole the clutch cover of the 86 and bored it out and grabbed the larger 87 kicker shaft.

Recently going through NOS parts I somehow have 4 86 kickers and 2 87 kickers. Not sure if they are still available but I could use a couple more 87 kickers.......
