Built this bike to ride has typical bolt on's. I am a Honda guy but landed on 3 1/2 86 Tecates in a short period of time now I am hooked on them. Bike is runnin rich as you can see started to get on it at the end of the video hopefully with some more tuning it will be running like a champ

try putting needle in 2 groove fron top
drop main by 2

forgot if it starts easily with no choke when cold and 70 degree air temp or 1/2 choke at 60 then you can drop the pilot one size also. sounds like it might also be big.
is it geared taller than stock?

Running amsoil at 32-1 filter is new I am running a pj 34 off a 86r 148 main 48 pilot
Stock gearing but running 18 inch rims I might put a 38 air striker on

ok, it shouldn't smoke that much. o would do a leak down test, might be sucking crank case oil.
for now you can change to the jets i suggested if you want but again, if the seal is leaking that should be fixed because ot affects the jetting.

Are you running Amsoil Synthetic? It should be mixed at 50:1 right? That is what I use in my Tecate. That will take care of a lot of the smoke problem. The 32:1 is the stock Kawasaki mix using 1986 oil products.
