Does anyone have any idea where to get a set of oem fender decals for an 86 tri-z? I just bought a white nos rear fender and I really dont want to put reproduction decals on them.
Also. I need a oem white front fender. I could use another oem white rear also.
I need a red headlight bucket too. Or really any nos or nice 86 plastics. (headlight, shrouds, and airbox cover)
The real reason for this thread is to hear peoples thoughts on the reproduction decals. IF they are nice, and close to exact replicas of the oem decals.

I would recommend that you go with the reproductions. There are reproductions out there that, in my opinion, are better quality than the origional. Also, I bought some NOS decals a few years ago. Been sitting in a warehouse since 1985. The adhesive had gone bad after all of those years. They started to peel off in a matter of weeks and caused me headaches. I later replaced them with reproductions and they've held up for years through mud and many many washes. My $.02

Yeah, the stickers from yamatopdog are really nice. I've gotten Tecate stickers from him too and they are top notch. Regarding the new OEM white front fender, good luck. I've been checking ebay for years and have yet to see one. I saw a new yellow OEM a few weeks back and the guy had it listed for $80 with the buy it now option. I almost bought it but I don't need yellow. Anyway, it went in a few hours. I don't think he knew what he had. He could have allowed a bidding war and may have gotten $250 or more. Like you, I have a new white rear and have been looking for a front. The thing about new fenders is that you hate to install them once you pay top dollar.

Boys just want you to know those stickers are still at dealership across the country in shelves. I have bought a few complete OEM sets from a few dealerships here in the US, good luck

I have a local dealer who has dealer friends across the country. I remember I needed those weird exhaust gaskets on the tri-z, and she called a few dealers and I got them in a few days. I should be more active in finding the decals. I would really like oem. But... I already bought the repros. I would like them to stick and not fall of.
You guys might think I am crazy. But check out the NOS rear whites. And I am gonna run them. I should just get maiers to scratch up.. I know...
I still need a red headlight, and to polish up my shrouds and airbox cover. Then decals...

I just bought one of those tri-z lower exhaust spring bracket/hooks on ebay. I have searched for one forever. I cant believe it just popped up on ebay for $10.
I found some NOS decals too. But... Im not too sure about them.. Since they are so old.

Nice...you used to be able to buy the NOS white back in 2002. When I did my Z back then I just bought them from Yamaha. Like 100 bucks. Same with the ATC 250R stuff.
I even found a NOS front!!176296

Ya. You are the one who inspired me to find oem fenders for my project. I wish I could have only paid $100 though. I remember I told you it was almost impossible to restore an 86 z to the quality of yours, and you called me out on it and you told me I could do it.
I didn't do a restoration, but I am working on a correct 86 restoration now. I hope I can find a NOS front fender. Fork boots too. Those are going to be hard to find.
Marty has been helping me find some parts too. He found me a lower exhaust spring hook/bracket. Of all places it was 10 minutes away from me.

That is awesome. Thanks guys. Marty I did the restoration this back in 2002. I ride it maybe once a year. I don't trash it so it basically looks as good as it did when I restored her.
Ringaman: I am glad my Z inspired you. I never did find the fork boots. I bought some off ebay that are darn near perfect. Exactly color 'red/orange' of the Z too.
Alright...here are some Z pics and a few others you might like. It thought it was cool to see the 2 dual headlight machines together....too
