I am having a hard time getting this thing off.

This is the second time I've done this, the first time being a couple months ago to redo the starter clutch.

The first time around was easy, as the starter clutch was mostly disconnected due the bolts shearing off. I used a four inch, three arm gear puller. I rebuilt the clutch, put it back together, and have been running the piss out of it, with no issues. Stupidly, I didn't really look at anything else, otherwise I would have noticed the cam chain was about done. It hasn't broken, but I can't really tighten it anymore.

Now I tear it down, and find the gear puller can no longer grip the assembled starter clutch/rotor together. Is there a smarter way to do this? I don't mind buying a tool or something, but I'm not sure what to pick up. A 225DR parts bike followed me home a while back and my winter project is to rebuild the drive train for this bike, so I'd love to know the right way. I've been scouring the internet, and I have the service manual, but so far, no luck.
