Hey guys, been around on the site for a while now and check in daily but don't post much. I recently picked up a 1985 200x in fairly good shape for 500 bucks. The tank is not off a 200x but fits good and its got a 250r front fender from what i can tell. It had a 250 Chinese motor in it which barely ran and smoked a good bit which leads me to this project! I decided to tear apart a 1984 200m I own that's in rough shape to harvest the strong running motor out of it and make a auto X! I have the original motor from the 200x but that's a whole other story...

The 200x when I first bought it.

Drugs may have been involved in this idea and alot of the questionable "improvements" the PO did.

175883
Beginning the tear down.

175884
Rolling chassis!

175886
200m tear down begins.

175887
Second rolling chassis in the same day!

175888
All the needed parts put aside.

175889
Got the motor mocked up in the frame.

Got the 250 Chinese motor installed in the 200m chassis. It will mostly just be a beater for around the yard.

Well that's all i got done today. Got all new bearings for the 200x on order and other misc stuff so when that arrives ill make an update. I'm not going for a restoration I just want a solid daily driver that looks nice. Hope you guys enjoy!

What exactly do the switches do? Headlight on/off and high/low?
He shouldnt of ruined a 200x shell like that but i still think its funny and neat.

Auto-x is a great bike, nice easy riding. the only reason I converted mine back to 200x was because i stumbled across a good 200x motor and my 200s needed a motor

You will have to dimple the front frame tube on the 200x frame to get the 200M starter to fit. Look at the 200M frame to see what is needed.

I have a few frames that I plan to do the dimple on soon.

Yeah i have it dimpled and bolted in the frame already! Took abit of effort to get the dimple looking somewhat factory.

One was the headlight and the other was for electric start haha, it was stupid of him to ruin the shell.. oh well
