Hey guys. I picked up a pretty descent 86 200x about a month ago and am going to restore it from the ground up for my daughter. She just turned 4 so I have some time to get it done, and done right. I'm not going to do an oem restore but just completely go through it and make her beautiful again. I also have an 86 350x that I want it to mirror so other than the obvious mechanical differences they will be aesthetically identical. Here are a few pics of the progress. I have pulled the top end and already know I need to resleeve the jug, rebuild te crank and replace the cam an rockers. Other than putting a dg exhaust on it the engine will be stock. The new fork boots are courtesy of oldskool83, they look great and fit perfect!!!! This is going to take me awhile to restore but as I do I will update the thread with pictures and progress!

The feet crossed in pic #4 is Ride-Red 250r (my brother Joe) doing what he does best, standing there watching and knit picking. LOL! I forgot to take good 360 degree pics of it before I started...... grrrrrr. But oh well, it's still going to be fun.

I did this to an 87 200x about 3 or 4 years ago...it is just now going back together. Hopefully you will get yours back together a bit sooner than I did mine.

This is a good read if you have the time: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/84010-DC-s-20-Day-86ATC200X-TF08-BUILD!!-84R-DURABLUE-INSTALLED-I-DID-A-DEEPA!!!!!?
I just got a MINT (thanks JAY!!) next to crate motor last week on EBAY that had just been listed for 600$. Now I have 2 of 3 I have seen in 10 years, Time to pull her out and get the FCR carb on there and paint a tank.

Here's another read if you like the original look but not all nos original. Did the complete build in 5 months. Mickey Dunlap works miracles with these motors. He did the port work and valve job on the head and it runs pretty good. http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/139457-stroberts22-86-atc-200x
