350X Side Case Covers....Right

Hey... I got a 86 Side case cover in the mail today. (Thanks Todd!) My 86 daily driver has a 86 motor, but a 85 clutch cable set up that is causing the cable to get burnt. Anyhow.... When I was cleaning it up, it looks like if I pull a pin out of the shaft that holds the return spring, I should beable to pull it straight up out of the case. Will this piece go into a 85 case?? The case was a Christmas gift ($5 shipping) and has a weld made up to hold the pin by the kickstarter shaft. I am a bit leary of using the whole case on my bike. Am hoping I can just transplant the clutch mechanism lever. Are there any other differences between a 85 and 86 case?? I remember reading that the 86 engines had a modification that changed the oil pickup or something.

from what I can tell the oil pump pick up is located in the right side inner case, not the clutch case which is the outer one. I'd think the arm would just pull out and slip into your other case with out any problem.
