Hi and welcome
as I recall, I put one in the truck and put the trike in gear.
As I pulled the truck forward, the trike rolled out the back so
if it's in gear, it should roll backwards.
I bet your brakes are locked. or drive chain is locked up somehow.
ez fix and MAY cost 12 bucks in parts.
Can you click on:
service manual

The rear wheels won't move forward or backwards.when I move the shifter by hand,I hear/feel the sound of engaging into a differnt gear.brakes seem free, but I'm going to disconnect them to be sure.also I checked spark and its seems weak do I have to use that exact coil?and I looked at manual link on manuals and I think there not there any more,or my phone won't go to them, any other site I could try?thank for help and information

Try this for a manual, its on my manual server...

Have you put the back end up on a jack stand or block and see if you can turn the wheels at all that way? If not i would take the chain off, then with the chain off see if the rear end spins freely, if it does then you at least know the problem is in the motor to start with. As for in the motor, it could be a messed up clutch, clutch adjustment, shift drum, shifter fork, who knows what. But first thing is to determine if its the motor or the rear end. Then once we know that we can tackle that one piece.

If you are having Tranny problems, tell them you are not interested lmao, but seriously pop the master link on the chain and see if it is brake or motor issues

Rear brakes locked up tighter than a drum, that's solved.now earlier I had a weak spark now nothing.what are the odds of coil going bad?in the on/off switch there is just a green and black wire, does that sound correct?a white wire and a blue wire both female ends coming off on/off switch that is going nowhere.I'm off to see if I can download manual.any other ideas greatly appreciated, thanks guys

do you have a new spark plug in it, otherwise sounds like a faulty ground or bad connection. the black and green are the kill switch, the white and blue is to the lights, you are missing a yellow and brown wire. it sounds to me hat you don't have the original switch on there173807

Ah good its just the rear brake, a lot better than troubles in the motor!!!
The black is the kill wire, the green is the ground, the black wire just gets grounded to kill it. Try unplugging the black wire to the switch then check for spark again, that way you can eliminate a bad switch which is quite common. Other things to check, clean up the connection for the wire at the coil, and unplug the CDI box and plug it back in a few times in case you got bad connections there. I highly doubt its the coil though, they seem to last forever, the most likely suspects are a bad kill switch, bad CDI, bad or misadjusted pickup coil on the advancer/pulse gen, or bad stator/source coil. Also check the spark plug wire, both ends can be removed and snip off a little for a clean connection when you reassemble the ends. Also a new plug if you havent already.
If you have a voltmeter you can test the stator/source coil, set the meter to AC, put the positive lead on the Black/Red wire coming out of the motor and the negative lead to the engine, ground it that is. Spin her over a few times, see what you get for voltage, should be 20+ volts on a good spin. If thats ok i would check the pickup coil, check its timing alignment and gap to the advancer magnet, and if that all looks good then suspect the CDI. The CDI is becoming a problem from age on these old trikes, its got capacitors in it and they are just hitting the wall age wise. I replaced the CDI on my 200ES and in the same year i have replaced like five more on other 200's around here. Sometimes you can take em off and smack em hard a few times on the sidewalk and they will work again! No kidding... LOL

Ok, well if you got spark then everything is working, but the voltage is low. I know i harp on this a lot on here, but swap the CDI if you got another one, if not i suggest you consider replacing it. Check the connection of the black/red wire coming from the motor as well, just make sure its clean and tight.
Usually the two things i suspect in that case is the CDI or the coil, generally if i have any spark at all i won't even look twice at the stator/source coil being the issue, just comes from experience with them. Sure i have had a bad stator/source coil before, but that usually caused no spark at all or very intermittent spark, not just weak spark. The ignition coil is just something it seems that never go wrong on these trikes, i have a couple brand new spares, have yet to replace one though! LOL
As for CDI's, i can't keep enough of them on hand. I just ordered a few more, i was tinkering on a 110 last week and the guy said it had intermittent spark, tossed on a new CDI and it had a nice healthy blue spark even with a crappy old plug. Replaced the plug and sent it home... LOL
