Upon disassembly the swingarm was cracked bad so I decided to go with the 450r pieces, some of which I had already.

That looks sweet. Will the chain line up ok. Thats a tempting conversion. I like it. Did you have to shim the swinger? Or did it fit rite in?
The link, 450?

The pregnant oven used to cook the new swingarm.

How does the length of the swinger compare to the R ?

I ended up just painting the rear pink Maier fenders for now. I have some new rear tires on the way. This thing screams!

Thanks to Louis, Fire and the others who helped with my swingarm questions.

I think it's a half inch shorter than stock. There are some good threads on here that describe the swap. I'm using the stock 250r linkage with a Dura Blue lowering link on the rear. Up front I used some bushings from a YFZ450.

Looks good. I just did the exact same thing gold 450 swing arm and everything. I'll have "something else" for u very soon.
If u go with the '06+ 450 swing arm I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same length.

Oh also what gold is that for powder coat?
And u stated using the 250R linkage but it's the 450 linkage in the pic.

Sorry, your right 450r linkage. My swingarm is an 06 which is same length, I believe the 07 is half an inch shorter. The PC is Columbia Coatings - Gold Metallic with a Super High Gloss Clear.

Paule: '06 & '07 r the same. For the trx450r it was '04/'05 was first gen then '06 and up. There r small changes here and there from '06+ but swing arm isn't one of them.
Poco Loco: I would have to say it's very worth it. Drops something like 7 pounds from the real of the trike. Could be more I forgot exact numbers. Then u have new rear components that r cheap and u can find everywhere including a honda shop.

If you're refering to a 450 version of a 250R there may be 2 then ;-)
