The wife, kids and I have been busy the last few weeks packing our stuff for the move back home and I figured it was time to get the R ready as well, since it doesn't look like I will have the time to ride. I have some old school trike fans that are antsy to see my toy cause they are pretty much extinct there. I also have some scores to settle with some buddies. One is just foaming at the mouth cause he is anxious to race but he is gonna be in for quite a surprise! lol This guy is a good friend of mine and we both have always had this little rivalry growing up, so it's gonna be fun continuing the tradition. He has no clue what a 250r is, much less how much power they make. He has an 06 Z400 with a DG Pipe, air box lid removed and a big gun ignition box. I know how it runs cause I had an 06 KFX 400 with the same mods, just different brands. I also have a piped 05 450r,stock 700xx and a couple other quads lined up wanting to race.

I have no idea what to expect from the 700xx race but do know I will have a 200lb weight advantage on the rider. Back to the Z400 buddy, this poor guy owned the Blaster I had before me and obviously the 400 would just leave it in the dust, so beings the 250r only has around fifty more CC's on the Blaster, he is expecting an easy win. I haven't gotten to race anything with my 250r yet but do know that 400 is only gonna put up a fight in loose dirt but we all race on good hard packed ground back there.

I am anxious to finally stretch the legs on this thing at near sea level elevation. I haven't gotten to hit sixth gear where I ride up here. I am also gonna have to fatten up my main jet a little cause we spend a lot of time in top gear cause of the flat straight roads we ride on. Anyways, I drained all the gas, changed the transmission oil, cleaned the air filter and have her ready for the presentation when we arrive. We will be leaving here August 4th and should get to Louisiana around the 12th or so, we have a few people to visit along the way. Sorry for the novel guys, I'm just ready to ride with my buddies again.

thats a cool story. why are you up north military? you shouldnt have a problem beating any of those bikes as long as you can launch the 250r good. the 700xx is the only one i dont know anything about. good luck with the move and the races!

My wife's parents moved up here and we eventually came ourselves. I feel bad cause this place is just overflowing with nice 250r's,Tecates and Tri Z's that people are unloading for 450 quads but the cost of living is outrageous! I will be making trips back up here every year or so to visit and I will be bringing money with me to buy all of these nice trikes. lol I will be more then happy to give them a home.

No problem at all with the Z. The XX could be a different story, but it will come down to riders and length of run I think.

Stock for stock a 450r will beat a 700xx.Up here at the drags the 450s beat the 700 alot.I rode a 700xx and they are kinda like a 250r power wise .It would wheelie no prob.I think you can beat it.I raced stock banshees with my 85 and 83 rs and beat them.

The 04-05 450r aren't all that impressive without the HRC kit. I raced one with my KFX 400 and it was a lot closer of a race then it should have been. I did race the 700xx with the KFX 400 and it wasn't even close, which is expected.

Yea, we are leaving Saturday morning. It really is perfect timing cause we are getting smoked out by the fires in Grants Pass! I will keep everyone updated and hopefully have some videos. I am really interested in what's gonna happen with the 700xx race, I raced it with my KFX 400 and that obviously wasn't a very good outcome so I need revenge! lol

Wow! I haven't gotten to race anyone yet, the Z400 will be over today though but I got the 250r gassed up earlier and took it out for a ride. The top end on this thing is crazy, I had my GPS on me but didn't have it set to record my top speed. If it didn't hit close to 80mph I will be surprised!
