Help needed with 350X front tire install to forks...

Guys, I rebuilt my bike and when I disassembled the 350x I took the forks and the tire off all together as one, it was easy ... well putting it back together I put the forks in the triple tree and now its time to put the axle and tire in... but I CAN'T figure out for the life of me how to put it inbetween the forks and thread it in, it doesn't fit...Is there a trick??? I slid it all the way to the collar side to see if that was it but even with it all the way against the fork with the screw on clamp it still doesn't have enough room to slide over and line up with the hole so I can thread it in... UGH!

I have the tire mounted to the axle hub and all, should maybe it NOT be lugged to it and remain free to put this thing on? UGH, I feel like a idiot :(

I don't understand the problem. All I do is put the tir/hub assembly between the forks with the axle in the hub, lower the jack until I can thread the axle into the fork and the rest is pretty much common sense.


Edit : I reread your post and it sounds like you're saying the tire and hub assembly will not fit between the forks, if that's the case the either one or both forks are bent. I also wait until the axle is tightened before installing the axle clamp.

I usually pull the fork out with the clamp. Then get the wheel on the threaded side with the rotor in the caliper. Tighten the axle in the threaded side and slide the other fork back into the triples and clamp it on the axle

Forks bent?

Yeah so I got it on. No bent forks, straight as an arrow... what I found is the wheel is wide then OEM front wheel. So when I slide it between the forks with the axle already bolted to the hub there is not a lot of room between the tire and the forks to move it to the left so I can get in-between the forks far enough to get the axle started on the right fork... I'm about a 1/8 away from being able to slide it in-between the forks clearing the right fork where the axle mounts so I can get the axle to start threading. I just yanked the left fork off real quick, got the axle started and then put the fork back on, took like all of 5 minutes....
