I know that some of you had inquired at CLARKE for a 250SX gas tank in the white plastic but they told you that they were no longer available, just the red color. Based on the look you are trying to accomplish the red may not work for you and I personally wanted the white back when I got mine about 6 years ago,

I emailed them and explained about the 3WW site and how lots of us still restore these 18 y-o trikes and was wondering if they had a minimum order. They replied that they would like to have an order for 6 in that color but probably would be willing to make us just a few for the same cost.

All I can say is my CLARKE tank as far as the fit and finish are fantastic. Kreem and all the work involved on a metal tank is your choice.... but for about 150$ for a new plastic virtually unbreakable - to each his own.

Just trying to help.

you can directy order on a brand new gas tank for 250SX at Honda dealership for $290 buck

I'm plan to save up and buy all brand new Fender F/R and R/L side plastic, and front/Rear racks and Brand new gas tank for my 1986 250ES Big Red, parts should total near $1100 . I don't like plastic gas tank, it looks ugly on trikes, but metal one looks great..

1100$ for cosmetics?? To each his own - You see, I ride the SX like an MX trike - not a trail machine. Strictly cheap plastic for me here.

Maybe some people ride better than me - I have numerous tank slapping knee dents in my metal SX from taking it a bit too fast or too long. I will always prefer plastic over metal.

Good to know for everyone else though.

I emailed them and told them about the 3WW site - I explained our passion for the ATC and they said "just tell the sales person you have permission from ...... when you call"

I had expressed I knew at least 2 people or more who in the past wanted white. But now that I posted this I'm not hearing from them. I would email them first but they didn't seem to make a big deal out of it.

I'll take 3! not really, but 1 one would be swell. Seriously, I want me a white tank for my SX as soon as it is available for ordering. PLEASE keep me updated on this so I can get a Clarke tank too!!! I already spent 4 hours hand sanding my metal gas tank in order to smooth out the combination JB weld and body putty. It is all smooth now but I have to deal with painting the damn thing and I doubt spray paint will do the trick for me. SO I will take one of them white plastic tanks when you order them. thanks

I told them I'd try and get an order of at least 3. You guys can either get something going together or just call them yourselves and tell them they told another member that they would make them in white.

Sounds like if you get the right person they will hook you up.

I believe there was a 3% discount if you ordered 3 of them - I actually at this point need a red one.

I think they are 160$ a pop.

ATCaddict,I re did my 200X tank last winter PJ1 has the paint you need
I messed up and didnt get the pj1 primer so I couldent clear coat and I used red instead of white and used a cheapo primer the primer and pj1 paint had a chemical reaction and orange peeled when i clear coated I will re do my 200X tank this winter when i get the time and will use the pj1 primer and paint and clear coat heres the link to pj1 you can order the paint through your local bike shop it cost about $7.50 a can but definately get the pj1 primer ,paint and clear coat because the paints arent compatable with any other primer or clear coat http://www.pjhbrands.com/pj1/coatings.htm

I just bought a 250sx that came with a new clarke white tank still in original packaging, never installed. It looks as close to original as I have ever seen. I really like it and would like to get another white one for my other machine. I may even know some other people that might want one. If you need a minimum order or need quantity to get a price break let me know, I will get at least one.

She told me if we order 6 we get 6% off and 1 free tank.

So if 7 people want tanks the price goes down 6% and 160$ is also divided to 7 people. The math is already hurting my head

I will definetly check out that pj1 stuff some time. I would like to get a plastic tank though so I dont have to worry about smashing in the sides of my newly painted one. So still count me in on that order for a white tank, I want it! I have the cash so as soon as everyone else is ready to order we can do that damn thing! PLEASE try to make it quick, I am itching for a new gas tank to replace mine. I got impatient after I primered it and used it without applying the white can followed by the clear coat that i previously bought. When I put gas back into it I spilled a tiny bit and it ate the primer off the front 1/3 of the tank. looks bad so i'll be lazy and just buy a new one.

Janet from clarke mfg. e mailed me and said that white was available ,so as soon as I get $160.00 ill get one it may have to wait another 2 weeks
as I may be getting a promotion at work and I get paid bi weekly.

Thats the thing - your probably better off that way.

If Jason wants one I'm sure he will stand by that and you sound serious also. I have the cash whenever it's needed but that still leaves us 4 guys short and unfortunately lots of people will "say" they want one but getting this all together for 1 order is probably impossible.

If all I accomplished was raising CLARKES eyeybrows to a bunch of ATC enthusiasts with a need then I'm happy with just that.

Sorry guys. I got impatient and just purchased the tank for 160$. I didn't mean to back out on you guys, I just dont think that saving 6% is worth waiting a couple weeks for everyone else to get their money together. No offense either, I am just impulsive enough to freak out and buy like that. I cost myself 9.60$ by not buying with the group, which I think was worth bieng able to buy it sooner. So sorry for any of you that actually want to buy as a group. I agree with dirtcrasher about how impossible it would be to pool all our money together for this cuase. Again, so sorry I backed out :( not my intention to screw you guys out of you 9.60$ a piece saved on this deal. hopefully we can still be freinds :-P

No big deal to me ATCaddict I probably wont be able to buy with the group either I could however get the tank on my credit card now but I would rather wait untill I get this promo. at work and get it with cash.
by the way whats the total including tax and shipping?

JasonB

The tank was 174$ with shipping. I dont know about whether tax was included because I didn't look that close at the bill before I clicked off the page. I put it on my card and went under by 120$ because I was too anxious to wait untill my cash hit the account
