A guy sells his 200X near my town...It is an 1984...it has a new clutch, new gas shock, aluminium rims, the rear fender is cracked, and all works good. It is 900$ CAN, non-negociable... I could sell my 85 SX for it...mine is in great shape, a lot of new parts are on it...
I emailed the guy and i asked him to send me a pic of the trike...
What do you think I should do, guys?
Thanks

ounce i see a pic of it i will be able to give you a better answer but if were you and you are already used to the power of a 250sx i would look at something a bit bigger such a 350x or a 2 stroke 250 now that you are used to the power of the SX you are going to think the 200x is a dog trust me i have been there. ounce i got my tri z and tried riding my old 200x again it felt like a little kids 50cc beginner bike they are nice bikes and alwase start but the power just isnt there. for a beginners clutch trike it would be great but they arnt anything you will want if you need soemthing in big sand pits and dunes trust me they suck at trying to climb big hills they alwase run out of power and you have to shift all the way down to first just about the time you are at the top of a hill and thats if you make it to the top i might just be saying this because i am used to being able to ride wheelies up huge sand pit walls with my tri z so dont flame me to much for telling the truth about the 200x

the 250sx is a 4 stroke I really dont think it would have more "balls" then a 200x considering the 250sx is a workhorse and the 200x is a racer ....

the 200x is a 4 stroke too and id be willing to bet that the 250 sx is still going to be more peppy i have ridden and owned both the 200x is an alright bike but doesnt have enouph power to realy do anything other then just mess around on ounce you own a machine like a tri z or 250R or a T3 you will see what i mean.thats all im saying

The SX has a lot more torque, but a 200x will run circles around it in a tight woods.

yeah but the x will never be a dune machine it just doesnt have the climbing power to me its just a good all around fart around play bike

ya but compared to a sx.... the only thing the sx has over the x would be the shaft that why it feels like it has more torque. ya you say the x will never be a done machine... I would not really think the sx is a dune machine.... I would not recomend ramping a sx like you would a x although it can be done! .....

i dont think eather of them are dune machines or jumpers all i was trying to state is it isnt a good idea to get a 200x because they arnt worth putting money into ounce you are tired of the power and because he has already owned an sx he will get tired of the 200x very quickly and be kicking his self in the ass for buying it later if he gets a 2 stroke 250 the mods for them are endless and when you do mod them you get alot more for your money power wise

I think the SX is a better all around machine. The shaft drive is a great feature and very reliable. The X might had a little more top end, but I think the SX is more versatile.

Dude, are you using it for duning? or just to fart around, mud, trail? cuz if you are going for trailing, then the X would be great in my opinion, i kill climbed my X on some steep hils, had to kiss the fender alot, but made it up in 3 gear, mine has alot of get up and go, my friend has a 250SX that i was actually going to trade him, but after hearing the SX wasnt as fast or anything, then i didnt.
If you are using it for duning, i would RECOMEND a 2 stroke 250, or, if you want to get fancy and others jelous, go for a Tiger 500!!

OK guys, the seller sent me two pics of it: look at that...
I do some MX track and woods and mud...I don't do dunes...
Should I buy it now? I wouldn't loose money, cuz I would trade with him...

that 200X is pretty decent it looks like, i would go for it, with a few mods, it could be a great machine!

As for me I currently own a z and have owned a 200x. My x was one bad machine The person I bought it from did a lot of work on it and it looked like they put the engine back in and were into the juice and forgot to add oil. I bought it with a seized bottom end repaired that and wow It had cobra exhaust major port and polish on the intake. I eventually sucked a valve and had to buy a new head. When I bolted the intake back on there was about a quarter inch diff between the head and intake.

I would say go for it, that 200x looks to be in pretty good shape.
