mud tires on a trike?

anyone have mud tires like gators on a trike? im thinking about getting some mud tires for my trike. just wondering if anyone eles has some on there trike.

what kind of trike do u have
remember the bigger and more aggresive tire the more power its going to take from your trike if you are only dealing with like 200cc or somethng like that you have to watch how big and aggressive you go on it.

i got a 85 200x. what is the most aggressive tred i can go? name a tire?

with a 200x id have too look at soem different kinds of tires but if you plan on trail riding alot wich it sounds liek you do id go with a 20 inch tire i think 22 inches is to big with an 18 inch tire it will seem more peppy but you wont have trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro for ground clearence i wont be any help as of wich tire thow because ware and what i ride i have my machine set up for Sand Pits and open dirt roads and things like that.

As far as more clearance, you will need bigger tires. Anything over a 22inch will hit fenders if you bottom suspension.
I used the Sure Trax when I was in the Everglades and went everywhere the 4x4 quads went and then some.

Vartiak I would go with the new ITP Mud Lites. They have nice agressive tread, 6 ply for better puncture resistance. For being 6 ply I was amazed on how light they are. I know they will be my next tires on the 350x. Id go with 22 x 11 x 8 or whatever size rims you have.

is there any way i can adjust my shock or get a bigger one so if i put on 24"s it wont hit the fenders if it botoms out.

you have to remember that a 200x wasnt realy made for major off roading also so no mater what you will get hung up lol try folowing a pack of people on 4x4s that are going like 5 miles an hour having a TRi z 250 and being its liquid cooled and 2 stroke the whole time you are worrying if you are going to foul a plug or over heat the engine :twisted: lol stupid slow driving golf karts

I have Mud Busters( 22-11.0-8) on the back of my 200x, and my buddy has Gators on his 200x. We go mudding all the time on our trikes, I even had to pull my freinds honda 250 quad out of a hole one time :D

to get more ground clearence on the 84-85 200x's you can put the shock mount in upside down. it has up stamped on it telling you the way it supposed to go. it gives you a inch or 2 under the frame. me and all my friends had them back in the day. we figured this out after the one guy put the mount in upside down by mistake. i would go with the 20 inch holeshots. the new 22 mud tires are usually so heavy compared to the stock ones it dogs the poor little things down to much. they are fun bikes to play aroung on.

i would not go anything over a 22, hell i wont even buy 22's anymore. to get some (very little) more ground clearance take the skid plate off. wont help if you do get hung up but that extra inch or less may help. if you put anything over 22's on you wont have the power there to get you through the mud. the tires that are on there are actually good mud tires. when i went mudding with it only got stuck once and that was because the river had just drained and there was about a foot and half of mud that was very very sticky. went through stuff a big 4x4 quad didnt get through. mainly because it is alot lighter.

One thing to think about is the profile. A flatter tread path will slide better on harder surfaces without feeling tippy.

I run Spider Tracs on both of my 350X's. Good tough tire, haven't ever had a flat. It also has a really aggressive tread pattern that cleans itself pretty good when the muck gets really thick.
