Picked this up at a local garage sale today. Pretty rough shape!!!

Any ideas on swingarm identification? Anyone notice anything else odd about it?

Ya, it has 86R forks, but pretty sure the triples are still original tecate. Any ideas as to why this would have been done??

Also, anyone know anything about the Lectron Powerjet carb that is on this tecate?

Looks like it found a great home. You have a swingarm there that is actually more rare
Than a Cal-fab for the 2nd gen. That, imo. Is a piece worth building a machine around...

What would the benefits be from using the 250r forks vs the tecate forks?

Whatever was available to the last rider.... That's all I can think of.

What would the benefits be from using the 250r forks vs the tecate forks?the triples do not appear to be 2nd gen.tecate from what I can see but better pics or comparing them to your other t3 would confirm or deny that. I do not see ay benefit to the R front end ,it was probably what was available to the person who put it on. In stock form the front end seems to me to be a little labor some to turn. The r front end may have been to remedy that but unless the triples have some rake built into them, the only thing I see happening switching from a leading axle to a trailing is that it will make the bike twitchy and make it feel as though it want to roll.

As to the Lectron carb... They are junk. I will pay the shipping for you to send it to me so I can properly dispose of it.... ;)

Just Ben, i think you are right, the triples appear to be Honda. I will tear into it tomorrow and see what kind of shape everything is in.

Looks like the piston is 75mm, anyone know anything about this? I haven't found much and can't find a piston that is similar, other than a couple jet ski pistons. The Lectron is in pretty bad shape, I will send it back to Lectron and see if they can bring it back to life. A good thing is that the swing arm is in great shape! Next is to tear the bottom end apart and take a look.

Just so you know that is a west coast swing arm! Now if that is an 86 westcoast swingarm for or from an 86 Kawasaki Tecate that is a good find!

I ideas on pipe identification? At first I thought the pipe on the left was stock, but comparing it to my other stock pipe, it is a bit different. Any ideas as to what it could be?

That rear linkage doesn't look stock. Does the rear caliper have a parking brake? It looks to me like it's an 86. Nice find!
