Hi Guys,
Looking at a set of reduction gears for a 1997 300cc 4x4, and they look remarkably similar to my '86 250ES.
Would they slot in or not?
Rob.

I bet they would, the 300 is very close to the 250. If not, I have a set out of an '85 250SX, which should be the same.

Always compare part numbers. If the part numbers are different, they are not the same.
Items 10, 11, and 12

Item 10, look at the fitament at the bottom. Item 10 does not cross over to a 97 300 motor

Item 11, Same as item 10

Item 12, Same part number as item 11. Matched set
Bottom line, these gear sets are only used on ES, SX 85-86 and 85 TRX250. The 87 gear sets are different as Honda redesigned the gears in 87.

Thanks for the advice, don't need them at the moment but handy to know. I did buy a spare set a while ago and I was told they were from an SX and would fit. Yes they fitted and worked as a set but the individual gears were different and not interchangeable.
And Flyingw thanks for the reply about the carb, all the time it runs I'll stick with it but when it does finally expire I'll be in touch!
