1984 cr500 cooling conversion?

Im just spit balling here but is it possible to convert an 84 cr500 to liquid cooled? Couldnt you just switch out the jugs?

The 84 cr500 mounting is the same as the water cooled engines you could just change the jug as there the same pattern. What would you use for the water pump tho???? Best bet is for that conversion you found is to pull the air cooled and put a newer water cooled engine in it.

Yes, the '84 was the only air cooled 500. Swapping the jug would probably be easy, but the water pump side of things would be much trickier. I'm not sure it's worth the effort when liquid cooled 500's aren't that hard to find. As stated above the mounting is the same, so a liquid cooled engine might drop right in.
