Hey guys, its been awhile. But it's summer again and the ATCs are coming back out.
Anyway, here's the first question.
On my 84 200X the guy who owned it swapped the throttle to a twist, and I hate it so much. How hard would it be to go back to the factory thumb throttle?
And for the second, I need a new motor for my 81 185s and Im having difficulties finding a running one. Any ideas on where I can get one? Or what other motors will fit in here?

On the 200X, easy, buy a throttle for it and swap, the cable and throttle swap as one unit usually when you convert it to a twist.
For the 185 just about any 185 or 200 motor will fit. As for where to find one, sky is the limit. I see a few on eBay now and then, shipping is the killer though. Some on here might have one, again shipping...

I have a 1982 185s, but it has some sort of valve/head issue. Why not fix the 185 engine you already have?
Also I have the thumb throttle from a 200x if you are interested, would be looking for $20+ shipping.

Ill swap to a thumb then, Ps2fixer ill PM ya in a sec about it
And the motor was burning oil like a 2 stroke, so I took apart the top end and the head was shot and I think the bore diameter has increased. I was thinking of doing a big bore kit but ill still need a new head so that'll be like 300 all together. It might be cheaper to just replace it

Burning that much oil is probably rings, bore and hone, oversized piston and rings. Not that big of a deal to do on these. What was shot on the head? You can pickup a head pretty cheap.

if you buy a cheap motor it is gonna be what is is. rebuild the one you have. make everything fresh and dont worry about buying more people junk since 90% of the people who have owned 3wheelers before 3wheeler world member seems to not take care of anything.
a 200x should reallyt have a 200x motor in it, just more fun.
a nice motor rebuild look to spened $400-500 easy. i have $750 into a motorbuild, everything new and i mean every bearing seal, gasket, valve bored, high comp, crank , cam, chain, porting/polished redone head.
do it right so you dont keep spend 200 here 300 there and wind up with 10 grand of wanted parts laying around. :)
if you need a 200X factory thump throttle i have one extra.

I've rebuilt a Chevy 350 to a 383, ill see if I can do it. But it seems like the smaller the motor the more problems ill have. Ill give it a go though, thank you guys for the help

So I picked up an 84 185s to keep me busy while I rebuild this motor. And I got a question about this one, once every couple of pulls it pulls back, I don't know how to explain it. It happened once on my 200x kick Start kicked back. It hurt like a b*****. What is goin on?!

Sounds like it might have jumped a tooth on timing, or it is just set wrong.
