Howdy,

Got a question for all you 200x riders. Back in the day, a kid down the street had an 86 200x when I was growing up, and I've always had a childhood void to fill ever since. Question being: at 6'1" 225 would it even be possible to comfortably ride? It wouldn't be my main rider but more of a casual trail ride machine. I have only sat on one, so really have no personal seat time on one. It was sure a smaller machine, but seemed okay.

Well it has adjustable suspension all around as far as i know so i think you should be fine. At most a upgrade to the rear shock.
I own a 83, so a different model and i need to get all the suspension rebuilt so i couldnt really tell you.
Plus im about a hundred pounds shy of yours.
So sorry if im no help.

I would say its a little small, i own an 85 200x and im about 5'6 150 and its more than enough power and suapesion to pull me around. My riding buddy weighs about 175 and when he gets on it the bike seems to be at its max suspenion wise and power wize as well he says it him self as well! I would say a 350x or 250sx would fit u just right...

I weigh in at 300 and 6,1 and I rode my 86 200X for 10 years before it needed reringed..I kept up with my Buddy and his 300 and jumped the piss out of it..I put an after market muffler on and raised the needle one clip all I ever did beside new clutch and springs...it'll haul yer butt and keep up with yer pals just fine

Should be a great trike for you.

I'm 6-4 and closer to 300 lbs than I should be. My 1st gen 200Xs would run as fast as I cared to ride on the trails. An 86 is a better trike in almost every way and should be a fantastic trail trike for you!

The 84s had to work pretty hard in the dunes, though, which is what I prefer. After I got my 250R, I sold the little Xs. They just didn't get ridden.

Fabulous trail trikes - better than my 250R and Tecate in my opinion. But power rules in the dunes.

I'm 6'2'' and 250 lbs and I fit ok on a 200X. What I will probably do to mine is put straigther handlebar because I always feel like I sit on the rear edge of the seat. What I did also on my trm-225 is put a thicker seat

I'm a solid 185 pounds 6'0. My 200x at least will climb any hill (stupid steep) and always has more power than I expect. I also have some mods done though.

im 6' and 230lbs. i had an 85 200x, sold it because i felt it was too small for me and got a 250r.

in reality i should have kept it, rebuilt the rear shock, and just bought the 250r as well. i miss that thing sooooo damn much.

it will need shock valved for your weight for sure. 200xs are small I made mine 250R sized lol. be aware 2nd gens are harder to find for parts but are a little nicer.

I've taken some flack for racing one:lol:...So if you can handel some jokes you'll be fine. Might take less flack on a 350X, more size friendly.

Is a rear shock from an 81 XR250R beefier than a 200X shock?

I could totally go for some Denny's mac n cheese.

Hey Toki... Hopefully I can meet up with you for a ride in a month or two. I think you're about the closest Trike Brother I have right now. Unless you want to count those foreigners in the Cities. Ha ha.

Maybe Denny's will sponsor us and give us a group discount?

Honestly though... If we're gonna do this right.
I vote for Golden Corral.

At 6' 5" and 235, surely I must qualify for membership in the club. :beer

My little 185S engines pulls my trike around just fine with me on it. Keep in mind it burns as much oil as it does fuel... Looking forward to putting the new engine together and see if there will be any difference in performance. :naughty:

Just thought I would throw this out there. Says 270 lbs. Maybe we're just average after all?
